Hunting Dog Breeds Raised: Golden Retriever, Labrador Retriever
Welcome to Haas Family Retrievers, our passion is our dogs. They are our family companions as well as our field and performance partners. Whether we are seeking a relaxed snuggle on the couch, the competitive drive of a champion dock jumper or reliability in fowl weather ... Haas Family Retrievers are tremendous! What do we focus on in our dogs? We breed for unyielding drive, paired with an amiable and happy temperament that places them equally as riverside fishing companions or top in dock diving labrador rankings.
At Haas Family Retrievers, the dogs we produce are well structured working dogs (but found in the show ring too), with bloodlines running rich with the Retriever Hall of Fame, Dock Diving Champions, Service Work, and performance sports plus so much more. We screen for good health such as hips, elbows, eyes, hearts, DNA tests for inherited diseases such as EIC, CNM and PRA. This includes our Haas Family Retrievers, dogs we breed to, and we look for as many clearances in the pedigrees as back as far as possible. To be even more picky, we run a coefficient of inbreeding before pairing dogs because diverse genetics allow pups a longer and healthier life.
Haas Family Retrievers currently have two dogs at stud: a Golden and a Lab:
Our dark golden retriever, Howdy (HFR'S Yippee Ti Yi Yo Lil Doggie), is a retrieving dog with an exceptional hunt AND show pedigree. Sire is a field dog first, but bench champion and WCX as well. He has a strong nose and soft mouth while being an amazing family dog. Full clearances and has sired pups excelling in hunt, scent, dock diving, agility, and show.
Our black lab, Blue (HFR'S Gettin' To Work in Dew Time), is a young proven stud with yellow factoring. Pedigree is incredible and filled with Field Dog Hall of Fame. Blue's line has proven performance in many areas, including his grand sire retrieving 1,100 birds in his first season (operating as lead guide dog). He's very amiable with a strong desire to please. The perfect temperament for kids, but also as companion in field and home. World Championship competitor in dock diving sports.
No dog is perfect, but we do the best we can in selecting the best of the best. We love what we do and do it right.

I bought my Golden Retriever from Haas family DOB 12/2009, name Brinkley, still have him. Luckily my daughter works for a well known vet in SoCal where he is well cared for . He is well loved
