About the Breeder
BREEDING SINCE 2022
I am a retired small and exotic animal veterinarian. I practiced for over 40 years in small animal practice, emergency clinics and zoological parks. Our house, in Laguna Niguel, CA, ha s always been filled with various animals, including dogs, cats, exotic birds, guinea pigs and salt water fish.
I grew up showing and raising and breeding English Setters and German Shepherds. My wife and I bred abyssinian cats and exotic macaws and cockatoos. I had a blue and gold macaw that lived to almost 50 years of age and came to work with me every day.
My last 3 dogs were golden retrievers, which all lived to greater than 13 years of age,also came to the practice every day that I worked.
When we lost our last golden retriever, my wife requested a less shedding dog to join our family.
After doing much research, I came upon the wire haired vizsla. I had never seen one in all my practice years. We went to a dog show and met a few breeders and their wire haired vizslas and was hooked.
Harper, Zoldmali America's Favorite, joined our house in June 2019. It has been an adventure ever since.
We are just starting our kennel, kaleidoscope wire haired vizslas and thus only have one dog, our bitch, Harper. She has had all genetic testing, eye exam, cardiology, thyroid and huu screening. You can check out her pedigree and test results on the vizsla database website.
Harper has been nothing but entertaining and comical. She is incredibly smart and picks up on training very rapidly.
She became a senior dock diving dog in her first 5 attempts, 5 are required, immediately bypassing the novice and junior categories. Her average jump distance is 17 feet, 6 inches. Wanting to have a scent title as well, we started barn hunting. She achieved her novice title in the required 3 trials. We play find the rat at home, but use food treats instead of rats and it is her favorite game.
Her real passion is play. There is no game she does not want to participate in. She gets along well with all dogs, cats and birds. This will be her first litter. She has been bred to Am. CH. Zoldmali Szultan, Rupert, in his first breeding as well. He is a well confirmed, strong, relaxed dog. His pedigree and genetic testing results are also available on the vizsla database as well.
