Windsong Mountain farm is where I grew up. We spent summers there while my dad was building it. I remember running through fields and fishing bass from the the neighbors pond down over the hill. We built teepees and slept out under the stars. From the porch we watched fireworks in the distance on the fourth and in November we braved the cold for opening day. It’s our happy place. 

So naturally it’s an amazing place for a dog. Our family growing up had a Yellow Labrador retriever need Casey. She was an amazing companion and was there for many of those moments and memories at Windsong. She had a few liters of pups in her lifetime too. She was the kind of dog that when you meet another dog or adopt a new dog into your family you wonder, will this one be as great as her. 

Shortly after my wife and I got married we were away on a trip and met a GSP on a trail somewhere near Smith Rock in Oregon. We fell in love with the breed that day and from that point on a GSP was on our bucket list for a family dog. 

When we met Kimber we were smitten, she learned so fast and is amazingly smart and eager to please. My wife and I are both runners, and now that she’s old enough, Kimber is a great running partner. We’ve yet to outrun her! Yet with all that energy she may be calmest and well behaved of all our children (we also have 4 human children).

We decided to breed Kimber, so we could provide pups that were bred, started and socialized in our home. We recognized that a good beginning in the life of a pup makes for a fantastic dog for both families and hunters alike. This is our why.
